The Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) -- located in Wuhan in China’s Central Hubei province -- prioritizes the development of high-end metals, new inorganic non-metallic and advanced chemicals materials industries and supports key enterprises, according to WEDZ officials.
In December 2018, a special exchange meeting on the new materials industry supply chain was held in the WEDZ, they said.
It was attended by more than 50 experts and industrial leaders from 24 WEDZ-based companies, who discussed cutting-edge technologies and explored the future direction of the new materials industry.
The zone is to add a new materials industrial park, with construction work beginning in 2019.
Plans are for the industrial park to cover an area of 11,000 square meters with a construction area of 12,000 sq m.
Officials said the park will consist of two factories and one R&D building.
