The overall work plan for Wuhan to expand its service trade pilot zone issued by the Ministry of Commerce requires the city to build a new energy vehicle (NEV) all-industrial chain development demonstration zone based in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ).
According to the plan, the main tasks for WEDZ include building a public new energy technology research center, accelerating the integrated chassis design for purely-electric vehicles, building a national NEV and intelligent connected vehicle (NEV) and creating a new NEV, power cell and second-hand car trading and recycling mechanism, among other things.
Moving forward, the zone will continue to construct a modern industrial system and form its NEV and ICV business by focusing on demand and supply, said an official from the zone's bureau of economy and information technology.
By 2025, the zone will cultivate two to three ICV leading enterprises and more than five NEV makers, and it will strive to push its NEV and ICV business to the national forefront.
