During the New Year's Day holiday, 82 volunteer teams in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) delivered health kits, vegetables and other supplies to key social groups, including the disabled, senior residents suffering from dementia or have difficulties taking care of themselves, households earning under a certain amount, and pregnant women.
Mrs. Shen, for example, is 83 years old. Her husband passed away, and her children have been occupied with their own work. She is suffering from high blood pressure, cerebral infarction, and other underlying diseases.
Volunteers visited her, and checked whether there are any security hazards in power and gas utilization at her home. Mrs. Shen received disinfectants, masks, and other commonly used drugs from the volunteer team in Xianglong community of the zone.
Xuefeng community is WEDZ's largest community. Five volunteer teams from the community not only delivered living supplies for residents in need, but also vaccinated and arranged physical examinations for them.
