The Cainiao Wuhan Cross-Border Bonded Warehouse of the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) Comprehensive Bonded Zone (CBZ) estimated that about 1.5 million orders will be placed during this year's Double Eleven Shopping Festival, up at least 20 percent year-on-year, due to various ongoing consumption promotion campaigns.
Wang Fengfeng, manager of the warehouse, said that the majority of customers purchased cosmetics, healthcare products, cleaning supplies, and maternity products. About 1,000 workers at the warehouse are working hard to deliver products as soon as orders are placed.
The warehouse has been preparing for the shopping festival for the past three months. It is the second largest warehouse in the Cainiao network in Central China, with a total warehousing area of 49,000 square meters. It has rendered services for many e-commerce platforms such as Tmall Global and JD Worldwide, and has as well as places such as Hubei, Hunan, Henan, and Jiangxi provinces.
The warehouse is now six times its original size when it was established in WEDZ two years ago.
During the festival, the CBZ has also coordinated with Wuhan customs to raise their parcel inspection and customs clearance efficiency, and improve the shopping experience.
