KOKI TECHNIK Transmission Systems (China) Co was registered in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) in 2016 and focuses on the production of gearshift towers, shifting forks and parking products, which are all key components of gearboxes.
More than 95 percent of the company's processing equipment is now intelligent, and the firm's clients include Geely, Volvo, Volkswagen, and FAW.
"We usually don't hesitate to invest in information development," said Wan Fangbin, executive director of KOKI China, "All our clients are carmakers, and we have to keep up with their information development speed, otherwise the whole supply chain will get messed up," he added.
According to Wu Zhongqiang, who is in charge of KOKI China's intelligent transformation program, the company has already localized key components for gearboxes.
"Intelligentization is a long-term and challenging task. Although we currently have many intelligent components, we've got a long way to go to reach intelligentization in a real sense," Wu added.
Benefiting from the intelligent transformation process, KOKI China reported 250 million yuan in annual output last year, compared with only 78 million yuan in 2018.
