Liu Ziqing, secretary of the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ), said at the 2022 China Automobile Talent Summit Forum held on Aug 25-26 that the zone will work with Dongfeng Motor Co to attract more talent for the automobile industry and achieve the integration of innovation, talent and industrial chains.
Zhou Feng, manager of Dongfeng's strategic planning and sci-tech development department, also addressed the meeting, saying that by the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025), the company's sci-tech personnel will account for one fifth of its total employees.
WEDZ is prospering in part because it is where the headquarters of the company Dongfeng are located. To date, the zone has collected nine auto makers, 13 whole-car manufacturing workshops, and more than 500 world-class automobile component suppliers.
The zone is also currently home to 31 academicians, 23 experts at the national level, 15 specialists at the provincial level, and 136,000 specialized technical personnel.
