A semi-annual work session was held by the Party work committee of the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) on Aug 12-13.
As a large-scale advanced manufacturing hub of the Central China, the smart manufacturing industrial park is home to many whole-car makers (including Dongfeng, VOYAH, and Dongfeng Honda), auto spare parts suppliers, (such as Cummins and Valeo), household appliance producers (such as Midea, Gree, and Haier), beverage companies (including Coca-Cola and Yili), as well as biomedicine enterprises (including HITECK and Tongji Modern Pharmaceutical Tech).
Over the first half of this year, the industrial park saw a 96.21 percent increase in fixed asset investment, with the contract amount accounting for 98.8 percent of its annual target. In June, the industrial output of the zone made up 86.2 percent of the zone's total.
The park has launched seven projects and finished the construction of four programs. In addition, it has established three platforms – the AI intelligent technology industrial park, the CETC industrial park, and the ZCWei Quantum industrial park.
