        Supportive land policy benefits NEV sector

        Since 2021, the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone handled 30 land remise deals, and most standard industrial lands are used for automobile and auto spare part manufacturing projects, according to the zone's natural resources and planning bureau.

        A new land remise mechanism has been formed, requiring all government review items to be completed before enterprises take control of the land in order to promote quicker construction and operation of projects.

        Efforts have been made to ensure there is enough land for projects by auto-making giants such as Dongfeng and Lotus. Meanwhile, the zone has been trying to attract more upstream and downstream enterprises in the fields of chip design and production and energy in order to accelerate the electrification and intelligentization of the auto industry.

        The zone's departments are coordinating with each other to complete the assessment of nine land indicators, including the evaluation of environmental impact, soil and water conservation, seismic safety and climatic feasibility. This coordination saves time and construction costs for involved enterprises.
