Junshan New City in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) continues to improve its industries, culture, education and healthcare in order to boost the inflow of capital, technologies, talent and other factors conducive to innovation.

The global science and technology headquarters invested in by the famous British sports car brand Lotus is currently being constructed in the new city. It will be able to accommodate more than 4,000 personnel and will optimize the next-generation auto-making industrial ecosystem for the zone.

The Yunfeng project, funded by Dongfeng Motor Co and located in Junshan New City, will serve as Nissan's global smart and green benchmark factory and will be capable of producing 300,000 cars per year and generating an annual output of 50 billion yuan ($7.55 billion).

Infrastructure for the new base of Cummins East Asia R&D Center has been completed, and the center is expected to begin operating in the first half of this year. It will be committed to addressing technological bottlenecks in hydrogen fuel cells.

Meanwhile, the construction ISA Wuhan International School – the largest international education project in Central China – will be completed soon and start operating in September.

Junshan New City will make full use of its mountains, rivers and cultural resources, set up lakeside central activity zones and riverside central business districts, and set up a citizen service center, cultural and sports center, international convention center, international medical center, high-end hotel cluster, and several business pedestrian streets.

The courage to think outside the box and learn from other advanced cities is needed, said an official in charge of the new city development.
