He Dacao, president of Wuhan Public Transport Group Co, visited the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) on March 1. The two sides agreed to expand and optimize the transport network around the zone in order to strengthen the zone's connections with Wuhan's other sub-centers and urban areas.

According to the work session held that day, the bus route that travels directly from the zone to the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China) will hopefully begin operating in May this year.

Liu Ziqing, secretary of WEDZ's working committee, expressed hope that the firm would be able to consistently support the zone and explore a new cooperation model for hydrogen buses, promote the upgrading of buses and other supporting facilities. The zone will collaborate with the firm in proactive services and effective communications.

Residents of the zone can currently reach Wuchang, Hankou, Hanyang, and Caidian district by bus, and the public transport network includes all the villages in the zone. In addition, the network enables people to transfer to Metro lines 3, 4, 6, and 16.
