In March 2017, Ecarx established Hubei Ecarx Technology Co in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province.
It also established an Internet of Vehicles headquarters and R&D center, production and operation center and sales center in the WEDZ to develop in-vehicle intelligent network equipment, intelligent cockpit systems and automotive chips.
Since its establishment, the company has obtained more than 300 patents. Hubei Ecarx Technology Co has become an innovative enterprise with the fastest patent growth in the WEDZ.
According to Ecarx officials, the company's R&D team has more than 1,000 members, and its product lines are expanding to include active safety, intelligent driving and map navigation products. More patents will arise in the future.
At present, the intelligent networked system and intelligent cockpit developed by the company are installed in the intelligent networked cars made by Geely, Lynk & Co, Proton and other brands. The company's core product, GKUI, a smart networked ecosystem, now has more than 2 million online users and is equipped in more than 40 car models.
