The Wuhan municipal human resources and social security bureau conferred vocational skill recognition qualification boards to 14 enterprises and colleges in Haier Industrial Park on Jan 24. Among them, four are based in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) – Wuhan Haier Electric Appliances Co, Wuhan Haier Water Heater Co, Wuhan Haier Electric Freezer Co and Wuhan Railway Bridge Vocational College.
In line with the requirements of the central government in social vocational skill recognition, Wuhan has been promoting social vocational skill classification since last year.
Professional skill recognition work used to be carried out by government departments, but now social groups and enterprises who meet relevant standards are allowed to issue vocational skill certificates.
The government provides quality supervision and public services, giving more autonomy to social groups in talent cultivation, selection and rewarding.
Haier has designed the "4 + 3" development path for its front-line workers, helping to foster more senior technicians, engineers and professional managers. The higher the worker's level is, the higher their salary is.
Wuhan Railway Bridge Vocational College now can issue vocational skill certificates to personnel in bridge and tunnel facility testing, engineering measurement, road building and electricity.
Wuhan currently boasts 52 such vocational skill recognition units, including 13 firms, 10 technical schools, and 29 social assessment organizations.
