WHDZ to add underground street passage

        chinadaily.com.cn | Updated: 2020-11-30

An underground street passage is scheduled for construction on Sanjiaohu Road in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ), Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, in order to provide more convenience for residents, according to local media reports.

At present, the expansion and reconstruction project of Sanjiaohu Road has been included in the zone's 2020 government investment plan. The project starts from Bihu Road and ends at Dongfeng Avenue.

The project's preliminary work has already been started by platform companies based in WHDZ.

The development zone will fully consider the requirements of architectural landscapes and urban design. It plans to construct a three-dimensional cross-street passage with coordinated landscaping, unobstructed traffic and comfortable pedestrians.

Construction work on the underground cross-street passage is expected to be simultaneously carried out with that of the Sanjiaohu Road expansion and reconstruction project.

According to the work plan, the project design for the two projects has been initially completed. The preliminary work is planned for completion in April 2021, and the construction of the two projects will be completed in October 2022.
