Bullet trains running between Beijing and Wuhan in Central China’s Hubei province were set to gradually resume services, after the national capital lowered its public health emergency status from the second-highest level to level three on June 6, according to local media reports.
The Wuhan Railway has gradually resumed the operation of passenger trains to Beijing from Hubei, while continuing to implement novel coronavirus epidemic prevention and control measures.
These include body temperature measurements, wearing masks, ventilation and disinfection and aim to create a safe and healthy travel environment for passengers.
A G516 train, carrying more than 100 Hubei residents -- who were students at Peking University -- departed Wuhan Railway Station at 13:30 on June 6 and arrived in Beijing in just over four hours.
Officials said the students marked the first batch of college students in Hubei province to return to Beijing this year.
They said that from June 6, people who return to Beijing from Hubei are no longer required to undergo 14 days quarantine.
