Wuhan zone hosts first offline recruitment fair for 2020

        Updated: 2020-04-27

The Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) hosted its first offline recruitment fair for 2020 on April 21, attracting participation of 26 companies offering 872 jobs, according to the official WeChat account of the WHDZ.

Officials said that because of the novel coronavirus epidemic, most of the recruitment fairs in China have recently been held online.

The jobs offered at the event covered industries in different fields such as auto parts, clothing, biomedicines and property services.

Job seekers wearing masks scanned health codes to enter the venue. Event staff registered them at the entrance and took body temperature measurements.

To ensure safety, staff also prepared first aid measures, set up temporary isolation points and organized the presence of an ambulance and medical personnel.

To boost employment, the human resources bureau of the WHDZ plans to organize one offline job fair per week.

Officials said it is expected to host a total of 10 events, running until the end of June.
