The output value of Gree Electric Appliances Inc's industrial park in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) is to exceed 15 billion yuan ($2.28 billion) in the next two years, local media reported on August 2.
Gree, the world’s largest air conditioner manufacturer, integrates research and development, production, sales and service. It settled in WHDZ in 2010.
The only way to transform and upgrade the manufacturing industries is technological innovation, and Gree Electric Appliances Inc's industrial park in Wuhan is proof of that principle.
The industrial park, the fifth Gree location in China, took the initiative in promoting automation in production lines, thus strengthening the utilization of new scientific and technological achievements while reducing staff levels and improving production efficiency and product quality.
The Gree industrial park covers an area of 1,400 mu (93.33 hectares) and has a total investment of more than 3 billion yuan.
Through technological innovation the park will achieve annual output value of 3 billion yuan in commercial air conditioners, plus value from annual production of 6 million household air conditioners, 6 million compressors, and 20 million motors; the annual gross output value will exceed 15 billion yuan when it reaches the park's designed yield.
