The testing center, with a floorage of about 11,000 square meters, can accommodate 240 people and meet the demands of different tests and experiments.

In March of 2013, Dongfeng Motor Group and German transmission company Getrag signed a contract to set up a joint venture -- Dongfeng Getrag Transmission Co in Wuhan.

Since its establishment, Dongfeng Getrag has been speeding up its pace in independent research and development. By the end of this year, it will have the ability to develop some transmission parts by itself. It will be able to independently develop transmissions for vehicles including the new energy hybrid automobiles when it's fully constructed in 2020.

Unlike other auto parts, each transmission matches only one car model, which means that transmissions for all new models must be developed separately, a representative of the company said.
